alternative managing agents

@Robin Williams is gleaning tips from the Bristol Block Forum regarding other managing agents.

In the meanwhile, here is a tip from surveyor Richard Turton of PMM:

We work routinely with Resi block management companies in Bristol, such as Adam Church, Hillcrest and South West Relo.

My understanding is that Hillcrest have a bad reputation. "Adam Church" look interesting.

I responded to Richard Turton's tip:

Thanks for suggesting Adam Church:
  • Web site is smart and attractive.
  • They use words which resonate.
  • There is no significant information about them on their website - it's necessary to arrange to phone. So I'll do that in due course.

Two more:
  1. RT strongly recommends South West Relo. Speak with owner Shelley Fisher shelley.fisher@southwestrelo.com
They employ RT on a retainer. He claims very proactive, and that they work up a preventative maintenance plan. Which is followed!! Their website is impressive in that it presents a detailed list of all the services and tasks which they will undertake.
  2. My friend urges a conversation with his acquaintance Scott at Box Property Management. However their www site suggest to me not worth contacting.

Things have reached a head in recent weeks:
  • Lisa completely 100% unresponsive.
  • Lisa never does anything she is asked to with anything even remotely approaching a suitable outcome.
  • Apart from LCS roof, the estate is continuing to deteriorate. No improvements have been made since Lisa took over, either tactically (eg several lift buttons) or strategically (eg preventative maintenance schedule, Telecoms Audit).
  • I am spending 90% of Deanery Mews time in assisting Lisa with her to-do list and her time management.
To this end I have approached Shelly Fisher of SWR above.

first meeting Shelley Fisher
Mark & Robin met. Mark gave tour. Smart, sensible, articulate. Big on fire safety - she's done training. No particular technical skills at SWR - they rely upon contractors. Told Robin that they cannot take on any new clients at present.
I told her she would need to think of a not-casual way of demonstrating that they have the capability to do the job. SF merely responded with reference clients. I pointed out that the list of services on their website is a starter, in that it shows they have thought about the many different facets of managing an estate.
